The Aussie Spring Cleaning Checklist: Room by Room
When spring rolls around, the longer days have a way of showing every bit of dust the winter hid. A proper spring clean resets your whole home — here's how to get through it room by room without burning out.
Kitchen. Clean inside the oven, rangehood and microwave, wipe down every cupboard inside and out, pull out the fridge, and descale the kettle. This is where build-up hides, so give it the most time.
Bathrooms. Treat grout and silicone for mould, descale showerheads and taps, clear the exhaust fan, and wash out cabinets. Replace anything tired — bath mats, old loofahs, expired bottles.
Bedrooms. Wash or air doonas and pillows, flip the mattress, wipe skirting and bed frames, and clear out the wardrobe. A box for donate, bin and keep makes the declutter painless.
Living areas. Dust ceiling fans and light fittings, wipe walls and switches, vacuum under the couch cushions, and steam the carpet or lounge if they're looking flat.
The whole-house jobs. Wash windows inside and out, clean flyscreens and tracks, dust blinds, and wipe down doors and handles throughout.
Don't do it all alone. Spring cleaning is the perfect job to hand to a pro deep clean — book one big reset, then keep it easy with regular cleans.
