Regular Clean vs Deep Clean: Which One Does Your Home Need?

Busihive Team3 min read

Booking your first clean and not sure what to ask for? Most homes need a deep clean to start, then regular cleans to stay on top. Here's how to tell them apart.

A regular clean keeps things ticking. It's the maintenance round: surfaces wiped, floors vacuumed and mopped, bathrooms and the kitchen cleaned, bins out, beds made. It assumes the home is already in good shape — ideal weekly or fortnightly.

A deep clean resets the baseline. This is the thorough job: inside the oven and rangehood, behind and under appliances, skirting boards, door frames, window tracks, tile grout, and the spots a regular clean doesn't reach. It takes longer because it's catching up on everything at once.

A simple rule of thumb. If it's been more than a few months since a proper top-to-bottom clean — or you've just moved in — start with a deep clean. Once your home is at that baseline, a regular clean keeps it there for far less effort.

When to choose a one-off or special service. Moving out? That's a bond clean. Just renovated? Post-build. Carpets looking tired? Carpet and upholstery steam.
